Out among the gum trees, at the foot of Arthurs Seat, on a crisp autumn Sunday emerges a modern-day witch convention (witches being incredibly positive and badass, obviously). A place where midwives, doulas, and birth workers alike gather with one thing in common.. they believe birthing people deserve empowerment and support.
As birth trauma rises and physiological birth falls, we fear the very foundations on which humanity is birthed are becoming shaky ground.
We know continuity of care is pivotal in positive birth outcomes, but in the current system, this can be difficult to achieve, from the very beginning at the first GP visit birthing parents are misinformed and misled. Finding the care providers you need and want can become an exhausting maze. Saint Majella want to create the map to his maze.
A nurturing, inclusive space where birthing people and their partners can connect with care providers, feel into the birth world, be empowered through education and feel safely held in a collective.
